Other tidbits from this past week...

Among the street artists I've encountered so far, perhaps the most distinct during the past few months of this blog to my eye has been Goons. I for sure have not happened upon his best work, although what I have found has been really cool. Goons works the North side fairly consistently, and I've found his art everywhere from the Depaul campus area to as far west as Elston and Addison. There are some other areas (such as Green St.) I've heard about that he works regularly that I need to get down to as well. Goons often uses paste sheets in order to use more detail and to create from home, and then choose a place to apply his work after the fact - but I have also found more typical chalk work by him as well. More coming on this one, Goons has proven to be quite prolific!

While doing some research I found out that one of Chicago's more interesting young street artists, SOLVE, was killed last summer. This one's for him.
